The Coolpix 950 was the first Real Digital camera I got. It had a 2.1-megapixel sensor. I still like the swivel design which was easy to use. It also had a great 1cm close up facility.
Nikon 950
The Coolpix 990 was an upgrade to the 950 but with a 3.34-megapixel resolution. Same lens and 3.3x zoom range.
Nikon 990
Al thought the same 3.2 million effective pixels as the 990. I got this one as a much smaller alternative to the 990. (Pocket sized)
Nikon 3100
Very similar to the 3100 but with an Effective 7.1 million Pixels. Still takes great pictures though. In fact the D40 only has 6 million. Still beats this hands down though. Just the speed of this was to slow. I missed many pictures due to shutter lag.
